Hello everyone and welcome to another post for this weekend. Well, this is my first post of the new month. I hope you guys are doing well. And Happy new month. It couldn’t get any better to talk about today’s topic on the second day of the month. I’m going to share about feeling defeated. Something you might have gone through it before in your life. This would be one of my favorite topics to talk about.
I love when sharing about self-development and things that I learned over the past years. There will be more information about this topic. And I’m going to share answers to a few questions as well.
Keep reading to know everything about feeling defeated and how to recover to succeed. So much more will be on this post and if you find it helpful, please share it with others. I would appreciate that a lot.
Feeling defeated: Recovery tips and how to handle it
Before I start talking about the topic. I want to lay out some important details. It’s like the base that can help to build up until the end of the post. So, when we talk feeling defeated. This post will cover both being defeated and feeling defeated. I want to talk about the moment of getting defeated and after it.
Because it’s not going to go away fast. Also, I’m going to share factors that can play a big role in the duration of having that feeling.
Well, this usually happens to people who always fight. You would get defeated multiple times but there is a way to maintain and keep going. Which I want to talk about in this post. Also, make sure to check Gundry MD MCT Wellness.
The recovery process might take a while depending on the purpose of your feeling it. Let’s know more about it in this post, shall we?
Q: What does it mean to feel defeated?
A: I’m sure most of us know about it. But it’s a feeling that comes when you are beaten in something. Mentally, you feel hopeless and lost the battle against something. And it also can be from feeling overwhelming to the point you feel like you are capable of working or doing things.
You might also notice that you have it when you feel drained. And you don’t have the energy to keep doing it anymore. Some people might see you and be like “Don’t feel defeated”. This is common and happens to a lot of people. Including myself because I’ve had this for over a month before.

Important point
I don’t know who needs to know this. But you deserve more and better than you think. Being defeated or feeling it could be a reason for you not to achieve that. So, it’s very very important to determine and be aware of the feeling. You need to be able to tell if you are going through it or not.
Then, you need to go through the process step by step slowly. This way, you push yourself back and maintain good strength. At the end of this post, I’m going to share these simple and easy-to-do steps. No matter what or why you are going through the feeling. Because you would know what to do.
symptoms to know if you are being defeated
- Disappointed
- Lacking the motivation to do anything anymore
- Thoughts in your mind of being incapable
- doubting your skills and talents in doing something
- Fallen
- The feeling of crushed
- Feeling that you are overpowered by something or someone
There are so many things that indicate when you having that feeling or going through it. Such as feeling discouraged which wasn’t on the list above. However, you need to determine and be aware of it. This way, it will help you to work on yourself and improve. You can see when the doctor tries to deal with your pina, first, need to know the causes and the pain.
One of the best ways to recover is by reading quotes. It’s the best reminder for me when I feel it. So, I want to mention some of the quotes here.
If you hear a voice within you say, ‘you cannot paint’. Then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced. — Said by Vincent Van Gogh
Tough times never last. Tough people do. — Said by Robert Schuller
I prefer to die fighting than living defeated. — Said by Luigina Sgarro
Defeat teach us us life’s most valuable lessons. — This is a Chinese Proverb
Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat. — Said by F. Scott Fitzgerald
To be defeated and yet not surrender, this is victory. — Said by Jozef Pilsudski
I can keep adding more and more quotes endlessly. But these are some of my favorite quotes about being defeated or going through the feeling of it. These are always good reminders during difficult times and downfalls. Because will be ups and downs all the time. Something I highly recommend is having as many as possible of these great quotes.
Q: Is feeling defeated an emotion or not?
A: Good question if you have this in mind. Well, it is a feeling that we would feel. And it’s a combination of more than one feeling. Such as hopeless, discouraged, and others that I mentioned. Something you should also know is that you can overcome it with easy steps.

Q: How long it would take to recover from it?
A: Yet another good question. Glad you had this in mind. It took me about a month to recover. However, you might not have it as bad as me. So, it all depends on what you fighting and what got you to feel it. Also, how much effort you put into it recovering can help with the speed of recovery. From a week to several weeks and maybe months.
How to know if I’m Feeling defeated
There are a few things that you need to pay attention to that can help you to know whether or not you are feeling it. Sometimes you could go through and you didn’t even know it. So, here are some of the things that can help you to know about it. Because it’s very important to know to deal with it. Don’t let it destroy the dream you have in your mind.
Stopped doing what you did and focusing on other things.
First before saying anything. I want you to know that changing the way of doing things is not changing your focus on other things. It is still the same target but different way. If you find yourself trying to focus on something that is not what you’ve been focusing on for the past days, weeks, or even years. That could mean you gave up and that only indicates one thing which is defeated.
Even if you think it’s impossible to get it. Keep trying and maybe change the way. It was impossible with the way you going about it. Many people in the past did the impossible and now they are history in books and some of them on the internet. We never know until we try every possible way.
Being distracted with entertainment and fun things instead of working
It’s so much fun to be distracted playing games. Going to the theme parks or even to the clubs for drinks. Anything fun but the work we are supposed to do. Surely everyone would notice it’s defeated and it’s not good because it will hold you from being successful and living your dream.
These are two things besides the feelings and things that I mentioned above, Which are the symptoms that can help you to know about it. And from that, it will help you to know how to handle it. If you know the reason, it would be easy to deal with it and heal yourself to get better.
How to recover from Feeling defeated
Now, the part that you’ve been waiting for. I want to share some important tips to help you recover. Although the process might take time it’s possible with anyone. YOU can overcome it and recover to keep working and achieving your goals. These simple tips will help you with that.
Focus on yourself in the recovery process and admit it
It’s not a shame to admit that you are defeated. Because you will need to remind yourself about it while you focus on recovery. Stop worrying about anything and just focus on yourself. Treat yourself to a good massage, and spend time with yourself. Meditate and do Yoga.
Read more on the blog: 40 questions for self-discovery you should ask yourself
But, you need to do the second one while you are not worrying about anything. Well, if you get distracted completely and forget about it. That is not recovery and more like giving up and doing other things. The idea of focusing on yourself is not to worry and gain entry again.
Get that momentum to fight back and rest well. Because you are not done yet from the defeat of one battle. You still can win and achieve your goals.
Remind yourself every day and plan a comeback
While you resting, make sure to keep reminding yourself about the positive things when you achieve them. When you win that battle, what good will come from that? Also, remind yourself why you need to do it(the good side of that is the “Why” can help to achieve your goals and win the fight).
Meanwhile, you are enjoying yourself, don’t lose sight of the bigger picture. Spend time planning your comeback. And it should bring stress or worry you. Take your time to think of all possibilities and ways to handle everything. Remember everything will be ok and you can do it.
Surround yourself with family and successful people

Don’t isolate yourself from your family. Well, I’m sure your parents wouldn’t want bad things to happen to you. Maybe you have a nice brother to talk to. Even sisters can be helpful to talk to and help you get out of that feeling. Family can include aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and parents. Grandparents or grandmothers. No way, there is at least one with a good intention to help and listen to you. Someone who can understand you even if it’s a friend.

Another thing is having successful people around is going to lift you well. Trust me, these two are important for the recovery process. But make sure not to be around the ones who would make it worse. Even if it’s a family member. Might not be wise when you trying to lift yourself.
Use journaling to help you recover
If you didn’t know that writing down problems and solutions can help. Whatever journaling method you do, try it when you resting. Write your new comeback plan. Reminders to read them and help you improve your mental health/ So many good things come from journaling.
Some people use the journal for everything. So, going back to the good things in your journal will help to lift you and cheer you. Make you remember that things get worse and get better, nothing last forever. That’s another good way to use journaling to help recover from feeling defeated.

It takes so much courage to share our struggles with the world, and you have done so with such grace and authenticity. Your words truly resonated with me, and I know they will resonate with so many others who are going through their own battles.
