However, this type of method has a specific place and you will learn more about it as I keep sharing things about it. And I think every business owner needs to work on having this.

Before you can apply it to your online business or local. You need to know what is it and how it works. And that part will be included in this post. I’m going to share as much as possible to help you guys to succeed using this method. So, please keep reading until the end to know everything.
Don’t worry if you don’t know the meaning of “point of sale advertising”. I will try to share the meaning as well. And depending on your business, you can share it but it has to be something you want to sell. Also, the type of sales will be mentioned below to help you understand more about it.
Q: How does this method of advertisement help grow the business?
A: Well, who asked this question? Good one. The way how this can help is by getting more sales. And that can help you to get more money. So, it’s a great way to get more sales and generate more money. You can try all methods of business growth including this one.
I’m sure many businesses do have products and things to sell to others. However, if your business is not about selling things. I think this might not be for you. That’s what people might think but there is a good way for even bloggers to use this method if they want to grow their blogs and reach more audiences. Stick until the end to know how can that be possible.
Types of sales this works best with:
- Products (any type of products)
- Services (such as fixing, building, and repairing)
- Courses (whatever course you want to sell as long as it’s worth it)
- Cars and trucks
- Food and restaurants
Although cars can be a product I want to mention it separately. It’s not something many people would be interested but it can be good for those who are looking for one. So, the list above is some of the things you can sell to people and use point of sales advertising to help you get more sales.
Maybe you are wondering how can this is possible. Well, I will mention how you can do it. However, before that, I want to mention what we mean by “point of sale advertising”. Something you are trying to understand and then we will move to how can this help you grow.
Q: What does point of sale advertising mean?
A: This type of marketing is called “Point of sales” aka POS. It’s a form of in-store promotion you might’ve seen before in stores. Also, it can be a marketing campaign. And both in-store promotion and marketing campaigns can be found at the point when a transaction occurs.
Well, to make it easy for you to understand. When you see sales around the store, maybe on the street with the digital screen marketing. Billboards all over the cities. Maybe you are about to checkout at the cash register, you see some sales to make you want to buy more. These are called POSs and they help to increase purchases.
You can find POS:
- On the selfs
- Advertising boards
- Digital screens
- The receipts after you buy things from stores and shops
- posters and cards
These are marketing ideas that can help you to get more sales but also a system promotion called POS. And it usually includes big sales or new things that come out. You can put anything in these but when it’s something exciting, more sales will come from doing POS marketing.
Some of the options above might cost you a lot of money. However, if it’s something great and exciting it will be worth the money and you might have good ROI. I talked about the ROI in my previous post which you can read here. Because it’s very important with advertisement.
Q: Can I find a way to do the Point of sale advertising marketing for free?
A: Good question. The answer is yes. But if you want to do billboards, that won’t be possible. However, some other ways such as on shelves or posters and cards. You can add to your receipts after customers buy. And you can use your own store to use this and it would be for free.

Sometimes if you have a lot of business owners that are friends of yours. And you are very close to them. They could offer to do something for you for free. Also, work together with each other to use POS in each other’s stores. Maybe this can help you use this method for free.
Important point
Sale advertising ideas can be many but you need to know how to do them right. If you don’t know, advertising can be an art and you need to master it. Therefore, make sure to learn and improve your skills before you spend money. Otherwise, you will get an awful ROI.
Marketing in general will require good skills but this is something you need to pay money for. And it could be a waste of money if you have no skills. Presentation is everything in this type of advertisement. How to deliver the message to people and make them purchase your things needs more than you think.
How bloggers and businesses online can use this method
I don’t want to forget about my amazing blogging community. And nowadays, online businesses are more and more becoming popular. So many people are growing and working on their online stores and business. Therefore, it’s important to include this part in this post about “point of sale advertising”.
It is possible and I have seen some people and bloggers who use this. It doesn’t have to be only at the checkout register or maybe physically placed in front of people. Digital is more common and many people are using it. So, here are some great ways to use POS for your online blog or store.
Follow up after purchasing from your online store/shop
When people buy something from you. You can use a thank you pop-up or landing page. And include your marketing sales. If you have something added. Maybe you are changing something such as prices. This would be a perfect time to do the POS and it can be done digitally.
Maybe just a thank you letter in the email and you can include other sales. Great way to promote other things with sales. And increase your sales. This is for business owners who run an online store or shop. If you are local and have an online shop, you can do both.
When readers share your post
I’ve seen many thank you for sharing after I share a blog post. Well, if you want to promote your affiliate post or blogging course. Could be a good place and time. If people don’t want, they can just close it and that’s it. This is just one of many places and ways bloggers can do to use POS.
At the end of the post
Just like checking out at the cashier register. At the end of the blog post, it can be a great way to share your POS and let people know about it. Maybe in the middle of the post, another option for you. Include your blogging giveaway, affiliate post, or anything you have related to your blog.
You don’t need to do it for every post. There is a way to do it for every post even when you publish a new one. I want to mention this because in the past I struggled with this. And later I found that it was possible which saved me a lot of time. So, make sure to not do POS for every post and do some coding to add it for every post.
Sticky element/block on your website
Another great way to use POS for online businesses. You can use the method of adding a sticky element in good places on your website. This is used by some bloggers to have a subscription box on the side. Also, for advertisement as you can see in the sidebar of this blog. But you can put it to good use and do POS where people can see it while browsing your website or blog.
You can control when it appears and how long it will appear. So, make sure to have a better UX (user experience) when doing it. Because it might be a reason for you to lose customers if you misuse it. Therefore, it’s not good for you if you not paying attention to the US when doing it.
