Today is a guest post from one of the amazing bloggers. It’s about relationships which is one of the topics that I share on this blog. She talks about one of the important things in life. I leave you to this amazing guest post. And I want to thank Ali for guest posting on my blog about how to have a Healthy Relationship.
Have you ever wondered what it means to have a healthy relationship? What do healthy relationships look like and what do they require?
I’m sure we all had kinds of experiences in relationships with others, healthy or unhealthy. With all the different experiences we had, there are some important components to have a healthy and fulfilling relationship.

What Do Healthy Relationships Require?
For a relationship to thrive, trust is required between partners. This means that both people in the relationship must feel safe enough to share their thoughts and feelings openly.
It also means that each person should be able to express his or her needs without fear of being judged by others.
1. Trust – believe that your partner will keep their word and won’t cheat or lie to you.
Trust is a big part to have a healthy relationship. I know that this can be hard to do at all times, however, from my personal experience, I learned from my past relationships that you just have to trust your partner and believe that they keep their word.
Trust is an essential part of any relationship. If one person cannot trust the other, then the relationship cannot work.
2. Respect – You need to feel like your partner respects you as an individual.
It takes two people to make a relationship work. One person needs to show respect for the other person by treating him or her with kindness and understanding. This means being honest, respectful, and accepting of differences.
If you listen to relationship experts, they will tell you that respect is a requirement to have a healthy relationship.
3. Honesty – You should be able to tell your partner when something isn’t right with them.
If you… yourself is dishonest, then your partner cannot feel safe in the relationship. A relationship that is built on lies cannot last long.
Dishonesty also makes it difficult for others to trust the person. In addition, dishonesty can lead to arguments and hurt feelings.
4. Communication – You need to communicate openly and honestly with each other about everything.
Communication is vital to have a healthy relationship. It helps you and your partner understand each other better and build stronger relationships.
Honesty is also necessary when communicating not just with your partner, but with family members, friends, coworkers, and even strangers too.
To have a healthy relationship
We all have things to work on in our lives and one of them is our relationships. Here are some tips to have a healthy relationship with your partner.

Be Honest with Yourself
If you’re having trouble communicating with your partner, try these tips to help you work through your issues. These are some things I have learned from my past relationships.
First, make sure you’re both being honest with yourself. Honesty in a relationship comes within yourself. It has to start with you.
Next, try to understand where your partner is coming from. Try to see things from his perspective, even if he isn’t seeing them the same way you do.
Finally, try to compromise. Don’t expect your partner to agree with everything you say, but try to come up with solutions together.
Don’t Take Things Personally
If you’re having difficulty understanding your partner’s point of view, then you might not be able to communicate effectively. This means that you’ll probably end up arguing more than you should.
Instead, try to take things less personally. Remember that your partner has feelings too, so try to empathize with him instead of trying to convince him how right you are.
Taking things too sensitively or holding grudges is not good for your relationship and not good for your health either. Trust me!
Give Each Other Space
One of the biggest mistakes people make when they start dating is that they try to force their partners into a mold that isn’t really them. They try to control everything, and they expect their partners to do the same.
This leads to arguments because neither one of you is willing to compromise. You both need to give each other space and learn to trust each other enough to let go of some control.
Also, try having different hobbies that you both enjoy doing together and separately. To have a healthy relationship, the relationship should not consume you as a person. Maintain the hobbies that you enjoy while you were single.
Lastly, having friends outside your relationship is important. It will not always be rainbows and sunshine inside a romantic relationship. In hard times, this is when friends come in.
Communicate better
Listening is a huge part of good communication in a relationship. As it is said, a relationship is a two-way street. So as communication, take time to speak and listen.
Learn From Mistakes
Learning from past mistakes helps you avoid making the same mistake again. So, when you make a mistake, try to figure out why you made it. Was it because you were distracted? Were you rushing? Or was it something else entirely?
Once you understand why you made the mistake, you’ll be able to prevent it from happening again. Reflection is important!
Why Are Healthy Relationships Important?
Why is having a good and healthy relationship important? You might ask. It’s because it helps us feel better about ourselves, makes life easier, and gives us something to look forward to.
Here are some reasons why healthy relationships are important.
1. You can have a happier life
Having a healthy relationship helps us become happier in life, more confident, and self-assured. You’ll also learn how to communicate effectively with your partner Finally, having a strong relationship with another person will make life easier because you’ll have someone to share your burdens with.
When you feel happy, confident, and secure, you’re able to be more open and honest with other people. In turn, you’ll develop better communication skills and build stronger friendships and relationships.
Also, you’ll find it much easier to deal with difficult situations. Having a healthy relationship helps you argue with your significant other the right way and in a healthy way too. You might find it easier to resolve the conflict if he is there to support you.
2. You Can Learn From Each Other
It’s true that healthy relationships are essential to our well-being. They provide us with support, encouragement, and inspiration. We can learn from each other, too.
If you’re struggling with something, you can always rely on and get support from your partner. And if you’re feeling down, you can always talk to someone who cares about you.
Because when we feel lonely, sad, or depressed, we often turn to unhealthy habits such as drinking alcohol or eating junk food. However, leaning into our loved ones is one of the best ways to combat loneliness and depression without resorting to self-destructive behaviors.
3. You can handle arguments better
When a relationship is healthy, the way we handle arguments also becomes healthy. Gone are the days when we give our partners silent treatment, hold grudges, bringing up the past, and not resolving the issue immediately.
When you learn and strive to have a healthy relationship, you also learn to manage arguments in the process.
Conclusion
To have a healthy relationship is to have the courage and constantly work on yourself to improve the relationship. I hope by reading this article, you can understand more about healthy relationships and strive to do better with yours.
Remember, building a healthy relationship requires a lot of trust, respect, and inner work.

Healthy relationships are so important, but some of us either don't know what they look like, or we are blinded to red flags because of our feelings. Great post.
Maintaining a healthy relationship can be challenging. I have struggle with maintaining a healthy relationships in the past. However, I have learnt that a relationship has to have the same goals and work together and not against each other.
It's all about having good communication. If you have that, then everything else is easier to do in a relationship. If you can talk about why you might be dissatisfied in the relationship, you can avoid that becoming a reason to cheat

Great post! It’s so important to have the freedom to be yourself in a relationship. And communication is key. I have been involved in controlling relationships previously and you can easily lose your sense of self, which can affect your mental health. Thanks for sharing. Jade MumLifeandMe

Glad to know you find interesting. Thank you for reading!
With regards to being honest, I am very confident to express my thoughts and opinions with my husband even though it means that me being honest tells a hurtful truth. I rather say it than keeping it and leads to another. And I don't like sugarcoating my words to explain things with my husband, and I always remind him to do the same with me.
Thank you for sharing that with us. I appreciate you for reading!
