You might also be more surprised to know I used to record and play video games with my friends.
We have channels, and today, I want to share some essential tips to help you. If you are thinking of starting a YouTube channel, you must ensure that you have these things.
I will share some of the things I learned that are very important for any YouTuber. Also, I will try to share more details about each one.
This way, it helps you to understand more about them. And there will be some essential points that you will know in this post.
So, keep reading to find out more about this. Don’t forget to share it with others if you find it helpful to you in some way or another.
Things to consider before posting a YouTube video
One thing you will notice if you are an old vlogger or have been on YouTube for a while. Things are not the same as they used to be before.
Because over the last years, so many things changed. I keep track of new changes to the platform because I plan to return to it soon.
So this will help me to get ready, and I don’t have to keep making the same mistakes as before; this is not good since there are many ways to learn and improve.
When I say things to consider, I mean you need to consider doing them—Not just having them in your mind.
Because the goal of these things is to make sure things are good. It would be best if you did something to share good quality content on YouTube.
And these things that I will mention are some of the main important any YouTuber would need to do. So, read until the end to find out everything about it.
Q: What’s critical about these things before posting a YouTube video?
- Ensure that you have a better experience being a YouTuber
- Avoid making mistakes when editing and uploading good videos
- Boost your videos to get more views by optimizing better
- Don’t ruin your consistency by having issues
- Improve your skills to become a better YouTuber
Suppose you missed the old days. When it was easy to post a video on YouTube and grow the channel quickly; however, that is no longer possible. Start earning money so fast.
So, one thing you need nowadays to be successful on YouTube have a significant influence on someone. And develop good patience. You will need them both for your journey.
Otherwise, it’s not easy to grow alone, and you are starting from scratch. At least it will take a lot of time to be successful.
Today’s post will try to focus on many things. I will explain them below on the list, as I mention them. It’s like posts right now—no way to post whatever and get a lot of attention.
It wasn’t easy before, but it’s not difficult and requires more things nowadays. I used to play games and share them on YouTube with my UK friends and others.
However, I felt more like a blogger than a YouTuber.
1. Prepare a good thumbnail for your YouTube video
One of the essential things to consider, and it’s obvious. You will need t have a good thumbnail for your videos. Because it speaks to the audience.
And if you want to know good about the video. Make sure to spend time before posting anything to YouTube to prepare a good thumbnail.
This is one of the requirements in today’s algorithm. There are a lot of people who take it seriously and spend time on it. This is how important nowadays.
Q: How does the thumbnail help the video to stand out?
A: Because when your videos get in the recommendation for others. The first thing they see is your thumbnail and then the title. So, when you have a good one, people always pay attention more to it than other videos.
It would be best if you considered this even before doing the video. It will help you to find a good one for the video. And you don’t have to worry about it later.
Trust me; I did wait until I was about to upload the video and focused on the thumbnail. I struggled to find a good one and had to stop for a while to get the best one.
Later, I learned to take it while doing the video, making it so easy for me to find a good one without spending hours on some videos.
Make sure to search how to make the best thumbnails for your niche.
There are more things you need to consider while making to help you get more views. And I learned this later after months of doing YouTube.
Although it was late, never too late to improve and learn; plus, this will also help me in the future when I come back to making videos.
2. Conduct research for the best keywords for your video
SEO is essential for YouTube videos and is one of the most significant search engines. Just like blog posts, it’s necessary to find the keywords.
Some tools can help you with that. You must learn about them and how to use them for your videos.
Make sure to add them to the title and tags section. So much to learn about SEO in making videos which I never knew when I did videos back then.
However, now I’m ready, and when I return to my YouTube channel. This will be one of the main things that I will focus on. I’m sure there will be more to learn about how to optimize it.
And how to ensure it will show up for others using the keywords. So many channels nowadays on YouTube, and yours need to be unique and different from others. A lot of people don’t focus a lot on SEO.
Whatever your niche, I’m sure there are a lot of keywords. Just make sure to spend the time needed to find the best.
Which means the most searched keywords and what you can rank on the first page. I don’t know much about ranking factors, but you should also be aware of them.
One of the things you should consider before posting a YouTube video.
3. Always never forget to review the video more than two times
So, coming next would be one of the things that I struggled with a few times. That would be bad things in the video after editing and uploading.
I wasn’t used to reviewing a video before publishing it until my friend told me about the video’s mistakes when editing it.
But I didn’t know until I uploaded it, and my friend saw it. Well, that wasn’t very comfortable, and if you are new to this. You will need to make sure that you review it more than two times.
Things you need to focus on when reviewing:
- The video transitions from one clip to another
- Subtitles, if you add to the video
- Any minor editing mistakes or errors
- Good timing for the intro and outro
- Timing of the music for the video
It might sound like a lot to some people, but it should be enough. Videos can have blind spots you might not notice until the second or third time of reviewing the video.
This is why you need to make sure by going through the video more than two times. Ensure that everything is as you want and that the video has no editing mistakes.
Especially when it’s a long video. Which can have mistakes you don’t know about it.
4. Ensure you have a catchy title and a good description
Before you hit publish on YouTube, I highly recommend you check the title and description and ensure it’s ready.
The title should be good and catchy. This way, you will have people watching your videos.
Free from grammar mistakes and including all the details you want to include and links. Make sure you have the description ready and sound as well. Otherwise, it won’t help you to grow or anything at all.
Although you might get things ready as you set up the upload, before posting a YouTube video is good to go through them again and again.
It will help you to make sure things are good and ready. People who start uploading to their channel for the first might have some mistakes.
Because it’s a common thing that happened to my friends and me, that doesn’t mean it will happen to you, but it’s good to avoid it.
5. Make sure you have excellent internet to upload the video faster
This is very important as YouTube videos need good internet. Otherwise, it would take many hours to days to upload a video.
Depending on the quality and how long. I used to spend around 12 hours; sometimes, it can be as long as a day or two.
However, I didn’t know about it until later. It took me months to realize it was my internet that was slow. And I learned this the hard way.
Q: What internet speed is good for uploading the video faster?
A: Well, it depends on the quality and length of the video. But here is a detailed article to help you understand what speed you should get based on the quality.
Don’t spend so many hours uploading the video unless you have. But if you have a friend or a family member that has better internet. You can go to their house or even work to upload the video.
After you earn money from doing videos or get enough money to buy better internet, this is one of the essential things any YouTuber would need to do because it’s a struggle uploading a video.
If it takes too long and crashes, you will have to upload it again. This is why it’s essential thing before posting a YouTube video.
6. Learn about the terms and conditions for monetization
Because they became more strict, this is something significant for any YouTuber. Especially nowadays, you will need to ensure that you follow everything.
And it might not be good if you don’t follow it. Many people are doing YouTube for money, although it takes more time.
If it’s your first YouTube video, there are a lot of things to know about posting a YouTube video. And you will need to keep up with the new stuff as well.
Q: Why do you need to review the terms?
- Avoid removing your YouTube video by the company
- Make sure that you earn a lot of money
- Post your video with confidence it will be for a long time
Google and YouTube constantly update things that are typical for both. But we need to learn about them and follow them as well.
It is essential to ensure your video doesn’t break any of them before you upload. When you click upload video, you can edit it on the site. This can help remove the parts where the terms were broken, and you will get the video monetized.
Engaging introductions: grabbing viewers from the start
In the vast sea of online content, capturing viewers’ attention from the get-go is crucial for the success of your YouTube videos.
An engaging introduction acts as the gateway to your video’s content, setting the tone and determining whether viewers stay or click away. To ensure your introductions are attention-grabbing and effective, consider the following tips:
Start with a Hook:
Open your video with a bang! Begin with a thought-provoking question, a compelling story, or an intriguing statistic that immediately sparks curiosity and compels viewers to keep watching. This initial hook can be the difference between a viewer staying engaged or moving on to the next video.
Keep it Short and Sweet:
Remember, you only have a few seconds to capture a viewer’s attention, so keep your introduction concise and to the point. Aim for a brief introduction that delivers the essential information without rambling or losing focus.
Personalize It:
Create a personal connection with your audience by addressing them directly. Speak to them as if they were friends or acquaintances, making them feel like you’re having a conversation with them rather than delivering a monologue.
Use Visuals:
Incorporate visually stimulating elements such as images, animations, or video clips to enhance your introduction and make it more engaging. Visuals not only add interest but also help convey your message more effectively.
Showcase Your Value:
Give viewers a sneak peek into what they can expect from the video. Briefly outline the key points or topics you’ll be covering, enticing them with the value they’ll gain by watching the entire video.
Call-to-action mastery: encouraging viewer interaction
A well-crafted call-to-action (CTA) is crucial for converting viewers into subscribers, customers, or whatever else you desire. Here are some tips for creating effective CTAs:
Be clear and specific.
What do you want viewers to do? Make it clear and easy to understand. For example, instead of saying “Subscribe to my channel,” you could say “Subscribe to my channel for weekly videos on [topic].”
Place your CTA prominently in the video.
The best place to put your CTA is at the end of the video, but you can also include it earlier on if it’s relevant. Make sure it’s visible and easy to find.
Offer an incentive for viewers to take action.
This could be anything from a discount code to a freebie or a chance to win a prize.
Make it easy for viewers to take action.
Include a link in the video description that viewers can click to take action. You can also use YouTube’s built-in cards and end screens to make it easy for viewers to subscribe, share, or comment on your video.
By following these tips, you can create effective CTAs that will encourage viewers to take action and help you grow your YouTube channel.
