How to get your focus back working from home
You might think working from home is easy. But that’s not true. There are a lot of things goes into working from home.

And that includes distractions and focus. Well, it’s something that I struggle with a lot to maintain my focus.
Today I would like to talk about when you lose your focus. Sometimes it can be difficult to get your focus back to continue to work.
That’s what I mean when I say get back your focus. It’s for people who work from home. Including any content creator or any online business from home.
Ways to know you lost your focus:
- Keep worrying about other things
- Difficult to finish tasks on time
- Can’t figure out what to do next
- Feel heavy trying to get things done
However, if you are a crafter and lost your focus finish crafting. Let me tell you that this could work for you if you know how to go about it.
Because I tried this also for that reason. And I believe it works with other things. It is just a matter of how you can do the steps. So, it’s not just about how to get your focus back to working from home.

Losing your focus can be due to a lot of distractions. No matter what the distraction is. That is not good to shift your focus before you finish. And it’s the responsibility of every person to work from home.
If you want to be successful. I highly recommend that you avoid losing focus.
Sometimes it’s difficult to get to back finish your tasks.
I’m sure some people would agree with them. So, I decided to share with you some tips to help with that. How to get your focus back working from home.
1. Stop what makes you distracted

Sometimes it can be difficult for you to get your focus back. And that is because the distraction is still around.
Don’t keep fighting to focus on work while it’s still around. This is something I used to do and it doesn’t end well for me.

If you want to gain your focus back. You will stop any distractions. And get rid of it until you finish working. It might not be easy to get rid of it. But you must fight it.
Don’t let it waste more time. Because that will hurt the business or work progress. So, it’s not How to get your focus back to working from home.
Types of distractions you need to stop:
- Watching videos while working
- Talking with others during the work session
- Doing other things other than tasks for the work
- Worrying about a lot of things
- Playing games on any device
When it gets difficult for me. I would stop everything that distracts me. Such as watching videos or playing video games.
Even talking to my friends or hanging with someone. And I manage to maintain my thoughts and work slowly to get my focus.

2. Do simple and easy tasks in your work
One of the hardest things when getting distracted is getting my mindset back. Once I’m distracted, I just want to be distracted more. I don’t think anyone would love to work when other things make them feel better.
You need to focus and finish work. So, you will need to get yourself slowly into the game. And that works best when you do simple things and easy tasks.
Get your mind slowly into the work mindset again. Also, another one on the list can help you with this one as well. Keep reading to know more about it. It’s important if you are just adjusting to working from home.
I’m sure there are simple tasks in each business or at work. Even if it’s not on the list. Just use it to get your mind back. And you can get back to working on other tasks
. Don’t push yourself because that won’t help. Well, I tried it and it didn’t work. So, I find doing simple work to get my mind slowly into a work mindset again like this work great.
When you have heavy tasks to do. It will be difficult for you to get back to work. Many situations depend on the tasks.
This will be a good way how to get your focus back to working from home. Sometimes it takes time for you to get your mind back into the game fast.
Adjusting to working from home might need some more effort than people who have already been working from home for a while.
3. Change your mind thinking and think about the work
You might be physically ready to get back to work. However, it’s all about your mind. If your mind is busy with other things. It won’t be good for your business or progress. Also, it might feel uncomfortable working like you started.
So, what I would do is keep my mind busy thinking about my work. This way, it slowly shifts my focus no matter how difficult the situation is.
The only issue is that might take more time if it’s so difficult for you to get your focus back.
There are a lot of things to think of to get your mind into work focus. And one of them is thinking about the tasks. How is work going with the tasks you are doing?
Although, I will mention one next that can help you and it’s very important. If you are just adjusting to working from home. You will need to consider this.

I wouldn’t underestimate how difficult it is to shift your mind to work when you are doing it from home.
4. Remind yourself about your work goals
While you are trying to get your mind into a work mindset. Thinking about your work and business goal is going to help to motivate you. Getting that determination back to get things done.
And I love to remind myself of my goals and the things that I achieve.

- Important short goals for business or blog growth
- What do we want from doing our work goals
- Long-term goals that very important to you
The determination to get back is important. Because when you get distracted by other things. You lost some of it. And if you want to work back and get things.
Then, work on getting the determination. Sometimes I get it by watching and reading about other successful people.
Q: What is the best way to remind yourself about work goals?
It sparkles inside me, the fire to get things done. And keep working to achieve my dreams and goals. So, it’s not just one way.
But you get the point of doing it. That means whatever suits you or works for you. Do it and see the results when you get that determination back.
Q: How important the goals should help us focus again?
There is some situation when you get distracted and gets so difficult to get back. And you can’t fight back.
You will end up taking a break. This happened to me several times before. But don’t worry, remind yourself that it’s not over yet.
It might a bit more complicated when you adjust to working from home.
5. Determine what can take your focus away
Make sure that you know what made your distraction. How they can get you distracted. Knowing things about will help with avoiding or limiting it.
You will be able to make plans that allow you to do them, but also don’t ruin your work progress. When you are just adjusting to working from home.
Factors to help you to determine:
- How it can help you with achieving your goals
- Does it ensure consistency for your business or blog?
- What is the outcome of focusing on these things?
- Can you turn it into something helpful?
Well, I did this late, and I wished I did it early. Because now I know how to control my time. And when I can do other things.
This way, I’m in control and I don’t need to worry about being distracted. You will take time to understand the things that distract you.
Some days you will get distraction without noticing it. But once you finish dealing with it. I highly recommend that you add it to the list of distractions.
Maybe be a possible potential distraction in the future. This way, you will be ready for it.

You don’t need to keep fighting distractions. Because that energy and effort could be used to grow your work. Therefore, I try to avoid fighting distractions.

We would think that working from home would make life a lot easier but there are some details that we need to be on the lookout for – distractions are surely one of them. Thanks for sharing these tips and for being open about your own experience. What I personally struggle the most with is when people whom we share the house with interrupt non-stop. It can be difficult to set clear boundaries, but also much needed.
