How to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022. This is one of my old posts, but since I lost my content, I will write it again.
And it’s better than before this time. It’s one of my self-development posts. But I will also mention what these tips will be best for. There are a lot of things you can follow to help you.
I’m going to talk about each one as I mention the tips. And what do I mean when I say declutter when you feel overwhelmed?
You can get the picture before you learn how to deal with this. Well, it’s one of my favorite blog posts and a lot of people found it helpful in my old blog.
So, I’m hoping that I will do a better job this time and make it more helpful to you guys. Keep reading to know about these tips.
How to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022
Getting overwhelmed can have many reasons for us being in that situation. However, most of the reasons have common things we need to do.
That’s what I will be talking on this post. Sharing tips on how to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022. Because it’s the best way to keep doing what you do. You don’t have to stop for any reason.
When I say declutter, I mean that word to decrease being overwhelmed and remove that feeling. It might not be easy, but decreasing is good. That would be the last thing you can do in some situations.
Q: Why it’s important to declutter when feeling overwhelmed?
- You need to make sure to stay healthy physically and mentally
- Keep the quality of your work better
- Maintain consistency when you ensure not to get overwhelmed
- Enjoy the process of working and doing the things you do
Especially, when it’s very important to you and you must finish as soon as possible. I’m sure at least two of these things will help you because I have done them before and they helped me a lot.
Feeling overwhelmed, it’s self-explanatory, and it happens to a lot of us. A normal thing to happen, but how you deal with that is up to you.

Some people would like to stop and come back later. And others would leave it and let someone else handle it. Maybe you give up on it and do something else.
Whatever that thing you are trying to do, I don’t recommend you do any of these. Unless you have to do it.
If it’s something important, you don’t have to struggle to feel overwhelmed until you finish.
One, the quality of your work will decrease and you will be in pain and struggling. Instead, do these tips on How to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022.
These will help to make it at least better if not make go away. You don’t have to do these forever because once you feel better and not overwhelmed. Then, you can do things how you normally do them.
1. Start with short and easy tasks

Alright, I’m going to start with one of my favorite thing to do. Well, I learned this one the hard way. But when I start doing it, it helped me a lot to feel better.
If I feel overwhelmed, I would change how I do things and focus on short and easy tasks. This way, it helps to recover from that and get rid of that feeling.
Don’t struggle with working on difficult tasks once you started feeling overwhelmed.
This will give your mind slow down. And you don’t have to spend as much effort as when working on difficult tasks. That’s how it will help to feel better.

I used this method a lot of times before and I’m still going to keep doing it whenever feel overwhelmed by anything whether blogging work life chores.
Notice that I didn’t mention a specific set of tasks. Because no matter what are you doing, the best way to deal with the situation of feeling overwhelmed would be this way.

2. Change to a quiet place and environment

Feeling overwhelmed and being in a noisy place never come together at all. That is because it will make it worse for you. And you won’t focus at all.
Therefore, make sure to change to a quiet place and environment. You can get yourself back to normal from that situation. It will be difficult when there is noise around you.
I don’t like a noisy place at all but I can feel it helps me to deal with being overwhelmed. Sometimes it can be the reason why are you dealing with that feeling.
It’s one of the best ways How to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022. Make sure to have a quiet place until you manage to get yourself to feel normal.
And make sure that you don’t stop doing what you do.
Q: How do I find a quiet place when I don’t have a lot of space at home?
You should consider changing the places even if it’s not the reason. Well, I would say a lot of people don’t like being in a noisy place.
Imagine you have to deal with both. That would make it worse for you and you can’t control it. It’s what I always like to do whenever I feel overwhelmed, no matter what is the reason.
We need quiet time to be able to deal and handle with the situation. Our minds won’t function well in noisy places.
Sometimes it might make you feel more upset. That’s more problems to deal with. Which would lead to worse results if it keeps going for a while.
3. Avoid unnecessary thoughts in your mind

Next on the list of how to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022. You will need to avoid unnecessary thoughts in your mind.
And I would highly recommend focusing on the present moment until it gets better. This way, you don’t add things not important at the moment of feeling overwhelmed.
That will make it worse for you and it’s not even worth it at that moment.
Unless it’s very important and you need to solve or deal with it as soon as possible. That’s another thing, but you can deal with it one at a time.
You don’t need to keep fighting both at the same time. This is not a good way how to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022.
Q: How do you know when it’s unnecessary thoughts?
- It is not related to the work you have at the moment
- When it doesn’t add any value to your life
- Thinking about silly things in life during work
- Worrying while working about unrelated things to the work at hand
It’s not going to end well for you or even dealing with whatever issues you have.
The priority in this situation is dealing with the feeling of being overwhelmed. Because you won’t do well no matter what.
Sometimes it might get worse and you will only get bad results. So, first, make sure to control the situation or the feeling of being overwhelmed.
Then focus on whatever else you are working on. This way, you keep the quality of your work and your mental health.
I’m sure a lot of us have so many problems to deal with them.
However, if you start feeling overwhelmed, you will need to let go of them until you feel better. That is one of the best ways how to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022.

4. Limit the tasks based on how important
Another good way how to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022. Once you started feeling overwhelmed, make sure to change something.
And that includes limiting the tasks. You don’t need to do them all anymore. Just allow the important ones until you feel better.
If there is a no more important task, then use another way to deal with the feeling of being overwhelmed and get back to doing the other tasks.
Looking at the list of tasks when it’s too long. That can be a way of making it worse by feeling overwhelmed. Therefore, get rid of them until you feel better. And you can do them later as long as it’s not so important.
But if you need to do them as soon as possible. Don’t avoid them because that would hurt the progress of your business or blog.
Well, when you do this, you give your mind and body a break, doing only a couple of tasks. Instead of doing so many tasks if you have a long list.
This is one of the things that I learned the hard way. I was pushing myself, thinking that I can do it. But later, I couldn’t do anything at all. I had to take a break for a while.
So, I highly recommend adjusting things to help you feel better. Don’t push yourself so hard and regret it later. Because it won’t get you anything.
5. Take a break and do a meditation session

One of the best ways that can help you when feeling overwhelmed. And this is something I learned about it late. It can help you how to declutter when you feel overwhelmed in 2022.
Well, it might not remove tasks or anything, but it helps you to feel better. Taking a break and doing a meditation session.
Benefits of doing meditation:
- Relaxing your mind and controlling your thoughts
- Allow your body to calm down and relax
- Regain momentum to get more work done
- Help you to think better during work
It’s going to help you feel better and organize your thoughts. I’m sure there are a lot of ways you can do it. But I feel like this is one of the best.
And a lot of people do Yoga and meditation. Well, I didn’t believe in this before, and now since I did it before; it does really help.
6. Finish a little bit of each task when you feel overwhelmed
Sometimes doing something is better than nothing. And this applies to you during work. Also, when you feel overwhelmed is very important to take care of your health first.
So, make sure to do a little bit of each task. If the task doesn’t require you to finish it, you can do it a little bit later once you feel better. You can get back and get the rest done.
Don’t push yourself too much because it won’t be good. That won’t allow you to finish everything. And if you are the only person working.
Then, that won’t be nice for the business or blog growth. Ensure the progress to keep moving forward while taking care of yourself. One of the ways how to declutter when you feel overwhelmed.

Nnniiiccceeeeee…these days, I take more breaks and meditate than I have ever done before. It's working in my favour.
Meditating is so important, and it's a great way to refresh. Even if it's only for 5 minutes, it can really do wonders!
Great ideas! I find meditation to be wonderful but for me it's through the means of yoga that really helps me connect with the present and my body. I also loved the doing short and easy tasks, I tell myself to just wash the dishes and put them away and just doing that helps me a lot.
I really need to declutter my bedroom before I go back to uni! Definitely going to use your tips and start with small chunks 🙂

It's important to know when you need to step back from decluttering. Clutter can definitely be overwhelming. But it's such a freeing feeling once everything is in it's place.
For me it really helps to take things in small steps. Divide a task into small easy to complete tasks and it helps feel like you are getting things done.
These are excellent tips. When I'm feeling overwhelmed with cleaning, I find it easier to start with things that I can do quickly and easily.
I try to do a little bit at a time, take breaks, so it all doesn't become too tedious!
One solution that I have found works for me is to do a little bit at a time. If the pile of clothes to fold is too much, just do a bit, then do something else, and then come back to it.
I tend to switch between folding clothes, washing vessels, and putting them away, and the change helps it not be too tedious.

This is such a big one! 2022 has been so overwhelming for a lot of people, even more so than 2020 and 2021! I find that decluttering often helps create space and tidy your living area, leaving room for your process your mental health.
