Hello and welcome to another post of this week. The last day of the week. Yay!! Well, not the last day, but for my schedule haha. Today I’m going to do the first-ever project in 2021 with something new. This is Decorate your desk with this awesome DIY 2021 decoration.
I thought to start 2021 with a nice decoration that represents the year. Like I said there will be something new to me. That means the first time I have done it since I started DIY projects.
Today I got a good project for you guys. It’s been a while since I did something new. It was interesting to try this, and I will explain how I came up with this idea. Keep reading to find out.
It might be something that I will do more in the future since I nailed it. Well, nailed it a little bit haha. I was surprised that it can be possible, to be honest. and thought might not work.

Decorate your desk with this awesome DIY 2021 decoration
Well, starting off. If you missed my previous post where I showed some of the first steps of this project. It was my first ever talk-over post. You can join the conversation after this post if you want.
Anyways, finishing off from where I left off in my previous. Which was showing the numbers.
The decoration will represent 2021 with something new I made for the first time. So I cut all the four numbers and wrapped the previous post lol. Make sure to check what I did first if you feel confused.
So the project will be made out of cardboard and paper. Which is the most used thing on all my projects haha.
It took me more than I expected to finish this project which is something nice to pass time on. And that’s good if you are looking to spend your time on something fun haha.
Required pieces
Well, to add to what I showed you guys in my previous post. I’m going to use more things. And here I will list them below. Things are easy to get and can make good use of them.
Here are two of the important things that I’m going to use. The first one is going to be used to make four stands which as you can tell, are made out of cardboard haha.
I cut small pieces of the cardboard to make a box out of it. This is easy and we all know how it’s done. Well, I make these because I’m not sure if I can buy these stands as I want them, you know.
The second picture above is something I call “a cardboard belt”. I know I made belts out of papers haha. I’m using the word as a reference to any belt. As it has the same look, you know.
The stands
As I said. I will use four stands for this project, and this will be to put the numbers on.
I want to make sure it’s visible when I add the last and final touch to the base. So this is why I lift them up a little bit using the stand.
Make them as easy as making a box and that is simple and quick. As you can see in the pictures above. I just glued the sides and covered the top. The measures depend on how long the number.
I made each number 5cm wide and 10cm high which in my opinion, perfect size.
It should look like this as you can see in the picture above. Don’t mind the black and white color haha. I’m going to add another layer over it in a bit.
The numbers
Moving on to the next thing in the project. Which is the numbers and this is one of the main pieces of this decoration.
I wanted to make the numbers with two sides and thicker. So I used the belts to glue the two sides. As you can see in the picture above.
Make sure to glue the belts on the entire number. So when adding the other side, it will be thicker and stronger.
This is like my most used way of doing the 3D numbers haha. I used it many times before.
It should look like this as you can see in the picture. I glued the belts on the entire number.
This should be enough for the numbers, but I still need to add the layers which will be a little later.
I did this to all the numbers of 2021 and it’s easy. Just repeated the same on all of it.
Here is a group picture of all the numbers finished. It’s easy but might take a little bit to finish haha. They are all still not good as it should in a few seconds, but I can say it’s all done for the numbers.
Now moving to the new item or new idea that I added to this decoration which something I came up with last-second haha.
The fountain
Well, for the first time ever. I made a fountain out of cardboard and paper haha. As I said, it was a last-second idea and it was a good idea lol. Let me tell you that.
The finished look of the fountain will be revealed at the end of the post. Which you will see in like few seconds haha. But I will tell you how I got the idea.
At first, I was going to do something simple and easy which I do all the time. And that would be like a star or flower. But I thought why not try something better.
That’s when I started looking for ideas. I kept imagining things while searching on the internet. And for a moment, I paused and imagined myself turning things in real life into cardboard and paper versions.
So I started looking and found the best thing would be the fountain. And that how I came up with this idea. I kept looking at a found design while making it with cardboard and paper haha.
You will see what I ended up with in the finished look of this project.
Here is a picture of the top of the fountain. At first, I wasn’t sure if there is a blue fountain, and apparently, you can find it but not sure where haha. So I decided to make it blue.
Before showing you guys the finished look. Let me show you the colored version of the items or things that will be in the finished look.

Boom!!! Here is the colored version of the pieces. The numbers and the stands. What do you guys think of the colors?
I didn’t know what I was doing haha. It was randomly picked and thought would be perfect lol. Also, don’t mind the light on the table haha. Sorry about that.

Here we go at the last step of the project. But before showing you guys the final and finished picture. I had one more thing to add and let me talk about it real quick haha.
I thought would be cool to add colored circles on the base to add more to it. Let me know what you think guys. I’m really curious.

Here it is!!!! The finished look of the project. The reveal of the blue fountain haha. I wasn’t sure how the colors would look like that, but hey? who knows what could happen, you know haha.

It doesn’t cost that. These are things that can be found in the house. Cardboard and paper mainly. Scissor, and glue, and other tools to work with it which is not expensive.
