I can say from my first week being late on schedule, everything will not work as planned but will make sure not to let it happen again and stop this habit haha. This something I never imagined would happen to me and I was surprised because it’s a funny thing, which some people may get through. Almost everyone who has so much to do may go through it.
If you missed my last post, I’m determined to get back to my schedule to do two posts per week, which one on Monday and the second one on Thursday. However, I was too excited about that, and almost got caught with everything and now, I missed the second one for the last week, and I can’t ruin my schedule by waiting for the next week, it’s not over yet, and this is what this post will be about and it should’ve been posted the day before yesterday. If you reading this, it means we are enjoying the weekend, haha, and I hope you enjoy it more with this post.
I’ve got a Christmas gift idea for this post, but before I dive into this idea, I want to share a little funny story that made this happen, which made me post it on the weekend. I’m curious if this would happen to anyone else haha, so, I would love to hear it in the comment if you did go through such a moment. Also, I’m writing this in the morning with coffee, which I think the best blogging environment, and kinda first time doing this because I usually write my posts afternoon or evening.
Anyways, I got my idea ready on Wednesday, and I just needed to do it in the morning and write the post in the afternoon or maybe a little bit late in the evening, that was my plan. However, I got caught up by important things out of my blogging sphere which I needed to do. I had to change plans to do the idea Thursday in the morning and write the post after I get back home from class. Time flies so quickly and we were on Thursday, but I thought it was Wednesday and I was like “Nice, tomorrow I will have so much time to do everything” because by that time I felt free.
The next day comes, I was excited while working on my idea and I just paused for a minute to think about how wonderful to be on schedule, I found out it was Friday haha. I’m not going to lie, it was a bit surprise for me as to how quick days going by and how idiot I was lol. Also, I was mad that I missed the day because I was serious to follow the schedule no matter what haha. I guess you can’t be serious without entertainment sometimes lol.
Anyway, talking about funny stories, I was going to say that this is my first time doing posts like this for Christmas, but I went through my old posts and found that I already said that before and it was only one post which I wrote like two year ago and it’s about a story of Santa handing Christmas gifts haha, because I was trying to get involved in the trend, if you know what I mean. Just looking at how much I’ve improved all these times and it makes me wonder how I was like that.
This time I will do more than just a story and show you my Christmas envelop and gift card which can be gifted for this holiday. I’ve done a couple of envelopes before in my blog with different ideas and look but they were simple, You can check them here, and here if you want to see how I was making them before I get a new look and new way this time. Shall we get started? Let’s go! I hope you enjoy it.
I’ve been doing my couple pervious posts with box sheets and papers, but this time I will get back to the old habit of only thick papers haha. I think I will make more of Christmas ideas with thick papers for a while and hopefully, it will be good. That doesn’t mean I won’t add other objects because I’m sure there will be so many ideas with so many things, you know.
Also if you missed my previous, which was the best one yet and the longest. If you want to read it, you can check it at The star, my special DIY project for my best friend, gift idea for birthdays and holidays. I did a new way of writing my posts for the DIY stuff and I’m going to do it here as well. I will be showing all the items I will use for this project and start getting things together.
For this envelope and gift card, we will need two pieces of thick paper. You can use one paper and fold it into two parts or two papers and put it on top of each other while cutting on a line to make it as shown in the picture above, two pieces. Which’s the method I used because I needed extra papers for the card at the end. Also, I cut little of the angles because I wanted this time to make it with different shapes and not only a square.
Next, I did this in my previous post which I kinda call them “The paper ropes” and it’s made of a normal A4 paper because they are easy to fold. It’s optional which kind of papers, it depends on which look it will be designed. Also, the measures are based on what it will be used for and what do you want it to look like. I’m not sure if you can adjust the regular rope to your satisfaction, but with this paper rope, you can haha, a good thing about it.
I just took a picture of only two because there are two others with the same measures, but I thought it would be enough for those to help demonstrate the requirements. The rest of them will appear in the last step.
You may wonder what is that shown in the picture above? the answer is going to be this is my new “paper wrap” made for gifts. I’m not sure if this could be found on the internet, but I made it myself because there no gift without a wrap, you know what I mean haha.
I hate to brag, but I will be honest with you, it took me a couple attempts to fold it like that, haha, because it wasn’t easy to get the right shape for the envelope and how I wanted to look.
This is everything we need so far to make that possible, but you may not see the full picture of this nice idea yet, which is ok because now, I’m going to start putting it together and add the Christmas touches to it. This idea similar to my previous, I had so many ideas for it, but I ended up doing some of the things that I planned before doing the process.
If you want to make something for any holiday, a part of it should represent it. Like the Christmas tree in the picture shown above. I couldn’ve added more than just a tree, but for now, this will be enough. Also, I did the Christmas tree only on the front side because I don’t think it will be necessary for the backside unless if there will be any other ideas to be added to it, I don’t need to put anything. Also, as you can see on the side of the front, there are small lines I drew, I will leave it until the end because that’s how I will make the envelope look cool and connect haha.
The right side of it, was a bit messy because I thought to make four lines, but instead, I did two lines on each side after I messed that up little lol. That’s will only what I’m going to use the ropes if you wonder what is it about.
The final look before I add more touches and Christmas vibes to the envelope. As you can see in the picture above, this is how it is going to be looking after deep thinking and trying, I’m glad I didn’t mess it up so bad or else, it would’ve been a struggle to do everything again from the start, it kinda took me a little bit to do the tree as good as it is shown in the picture and still, not very good.
Alrighty, guys, I’m going to presents you the changes to everything I’ve shared above and adding the Christmas vibes silently and let you enjoy watching the changes as if it was a video while you scroll down, you know haha. I will be back when everything is done and we can continue and put everything together, I hope you enjoy.
Welcome back, that wasn’t too long but it was nice to demonstrate the changes in different ways haha. The last one is called the “Red wrap” for the Christmas gift card envelope, that would be the final name after everything. Also, the tree kinda comes nicely but not as perfect as I wanted.
It’s not another time because I didn’t forget to take photos for the next final step which making things together. However, how about just show the final look in a finger snap and that would be it. This way is going to be more fun than making it even longer with more stuff to say. I know this may not be a video but don’t look down and imagine how it could be?
The final look of the Christmas gift card envelope.. please snap your finger and look down…
Here we go! I present to you the final look of it. I like how the colors turn to be so good and make a pretty look for the Christmas gift card envelope and I wanted to make a custom card for this to finish it off, but I think it will be enough to have a regular card since we did good work on the envelope. So, I just cut a thick paper to make it match the envelope’s height but little more showing from the top and colored it with the blue for more touches. That would be ready to use if you want to send someone you love a gift card for Christmas, a DIY Christmas gift card with a custom envelope, who wouldn’t love that.
